Leelee Sobieski

Leelee Sobieski or Liliane Rudabet Gloria Elsveta Sobieski was born June 10, 1982 in New York City, New York, USA is an American film and television actress. She is 5' 10" or 1.78m tall and has size 10 feet and rose to fame in her teenage years in an appearance in “Deep Impact” and played a modern Lolita in Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut (released in 1999, she was not even fifteen when her nymphet-like scenes were shot). She also received an Emmy nomination for the 1999 TV movie Joan of Arc, and two Golden Globe nominations for Joan of Arc and the TV movie Uprising. Sobieski’s parents are American novelist/screenwriter Elizabeth (née Salomon), who also works as Sobieski's manager, and French painter and former actor Jean Sobieski. Sobieski's first name, "Liliane", was the name of her paternal grandmother. One of her middle names, "Elsveta", is derived from "Elżbieta" which is the Polish equivalent of "Elizabeth". Leelee was in a relationship with Finding Bliss co-star Matthew Davis from March through November 2008. Currently, Sobieski is engaged to fashion designer Adam Kimmel.

Fluency in French landed Leelee Sobieski roles in the Merchant Ivory Film A Soldier's Daughter Never Cries (1998), L'Idole (2002) and the miniseries Les liaisons dangereuses (2003) with Catherine Deneuve and Rupert Everett, an adaptation of Laclos's classic novel of sexual intrigue.

Many people have noted that Leelee Sobieski looks like actress Helen Hunt and they are led to believe that she is her younger sister. However the two aren’t related. She attended Trevor Day School. Leelee was discovered by a casting director in her New York City school cafeteria. She also enjoys painting, ceramics, poetry, martial arts and horseback riding. She didn't get her ears pierced until 2006, when she had them done at the age of 23 specially to be able to wear a pair of antique earrings given to her by her then-boyfriend.
